If you follow my blog, you know I have begun the journey to a healthy and balanced lifestyle to take back my health. If you do not follow my blog, here is a quick peek into the beginning of my journey.
So what has happened since the beginning of June?? I have lost a total of 15 pounds. Yes, the total weight of my twins at birth. On top of that, I have lost inches, gained a crap-ton of energy, and a new lease on life. Not to mention, having the ability to keep up with our very active kiddos. That alone is worth these changes.
Since I started this journey, I have had so many people asking me what am I doing? Nothing magical, really. Keeping an open dialogue with my husband and friends (whome cheer me on), working out at least 5 days a week, intermittent fasting at last 4 days a week (I have PCOS, this helps with my symptoms/insulin resistance), and working on my nutrition.
When I started my journey, I went to YouTube for beginners workouts. I knew I would have to start small and work my way up. That is when I discovered Team Body Project. Before I go further, I am not being paid to say this, I get nothing by saying this, this is literally just plain ole' me telling you what I have found. This is a workout regime created by a beautiful couple out of Australia is amazing. If their accent doesn't do it, then what will? Their exercises literally start you out from the bottom. Great cardio, with low impact. If you are a senior, they even have seated exercises for you.
Can I tell you what I love even more so; they have an entire page on YouTube devoted to free workouts. Unlike many other workout programs, you have to give your banking info before you have access to the workouts. This is just not the case with Team Body Project. You can even download their app, use their website, and join their Facebook group, no commitment. Even more than that, they are encouraging you during your workouts, display varying workout abilities among their participants, and did I mention the cool accent?
Really and truly, I am not doing anything magical. During the first 30 to 45 minutes of breakfast, I take the time to start my day right. I sweat, probably stink a bit, but get my stuff done. What I love is that my children are seeing me practice what I try to "preach" to them about health. My twins are eating more veggies than most adults do since we have made these changes. My post-partum depression is all, but gone ****. I literally feel so much better, mentally, physically, etc.
At the end of the day, I told my husband I am doing this for me. I want to feel like I know I can feel. I want to look like I sure as heck know I can look. And being vulnerable, tired of buying clothes at special stores and sections. But I know, that also, this affects my kids and husband positively. Doing this for me is doing this for them. And as the creators say all-the-time, progress not perfection.
